Long Island, by its very nature, is an isolated community and there’s rarely anyone “passing through” our communities and towns. Everything we do is to foster the community we serve. Our future goals are to become a 501c7 non-profit sometime next year so we can really start raising funds that we can then invest in a 24/7 clubhouse for our members: tables, member lockers, couches, TV, etc.
We have over 200 members on our Discord, we just hit 50 members on our free membership, and we have over 20 members paying for our yearly membership (which includes a 10% discount at our LGS). We are a tabletop wargaming club centered on Discord and based out of one of the few local gaming stores here on Long Island. Long Island Wargames was born June 22nd of 2021, so we’re just over a year old. Tell us about Long Island Wargames - When did it start and what made you decide to start things up?
Today we're interviewing Joseph Pascarella, one of the founders of Long Island Wargames, a gaming club in New York. We're big fans of wargames' unique ability to bring communities of like-minded individuals together. While it details that humanity was united and even prosperous under his reign, it also makes clear his. The cover of this issue is the above classic John Blanche illustration of The Emperor, with the becapslocked promise that we are going to learn all about him. This will be the final issue of that first binder, bringing it to a prodigal 5.81 lbs, or approximately 1/2 of my beloved cat Noomi. This package also contained the second grimdark Trapper-Keeper in which to store my Imperium collection. We're 25% through Imperium's 80 issues and 4 bonus issues, and my growing backlog is screaming for paint as I write this. If you're a returning reader, this marks the quarter mile marker. If you're new here, you're welcome and also I'm sorry. Honestly, up until a very recent hobby hang out with Rob, I didn't know anyone else found their way to SRM's Vanity Project Corner. I've had a lot of fun in this award-eligible series. A Premium subscription was provided to Goonhammer for review purposes. In this 80-week series, our intrepid magazine-receiver will be reviewing each individual issue, its included models, and gaming materials. Imperium is a weekly hobby magazine from Hachette Partworks. The obvious synergy with Folk Hero is obvious.įromTheShire: Draining is nice but the Treasure is what makes this really good, as well as letting you pick a background so you can pick what color you want with him. If enough 1-2 cost Rogue/Wizard/Cleric/Warriors come out and some ways to generate mana this gets really dangerous, potentially.įromTheShire: Nice cheap Commander that gives you card advantage, and while the counters aren't huge, deathtouch is great for getting your generally smaller party members through, or at least trade up with them.īPhillipYork: One of the most solid "full party" mechanics, generating treasures off attacking, up to 4, is pretty solid ramp. We've covered the the decks individually, but this week we want to highlight the new cards from within them.īPhillipYork: Interesting set piece that will let you cast from the top, always letting you view is nice, but deathtouch and +1/+1 counters are pretty lame until a way to turn deathtouch into infect comes out.
Magic's most recent expansion had us travel to Baldur's Gate on a grand adventure, and in addition to the set itself, we got the usual suite of companion preconstructed decks.
